I'm a regular player on WSOP NJ. This hand is from the Sunday $100 10K GTD. 163 runners, Top 30 got paid. 30th place gets $134, 10th place gets $192, as all the money is concentrated on the final table. 1st place is $4004, 2nd is $2336, and 3rd was $1334.

blinds are 800/1600 with a 200 ante. 7 players are at my table. The UTG under the gun(villain) 90000 (56 BB) min raises to 3200. Hero in middle position with 77 can either shove 26000 (15 BB), can call the 3200 and then push on the flop (stop & go), or Hero can fold and try to wait for a better spot.

Hero shoves with 77. Villain calls with AQ offsuit. Villain hits a Queen on the flop to take it down. Hero is out in 13th place. $192.

Without looking at Villain's fold to 3-bet shove HUD stats, Did I play it correctly, or did I miss something?

Hi, try not to post results. Any reads on villain? If he's the type of raising frequently from different positions i'd jam, but its near the bottom of my jamming range against an UTG open.

Shove is fine. Stop and go is okay too. I would only fold this pre if there were micro (2-4 BB) stacks around and I thought that getting out of the way was my best chance at getting to the FT. I think all-in is better than stop and go.

I mean, in a vacuum is fine, but really depends on table dynamic and V´s image obv.

This is a fold read less , not only is 77 doing poorly vs an utg opening range , you're in a horrible spot to be shoving marginally

Not saying your wrong, but UTG is the new BU these days

I went back to Holdem Manager, and I only had 6 hands on the Villain prior to this hand so I didn't have a read. If I fold 77 in this spot, blinds are coming around quickly short-handed, and blinds will soon be at 1000/2000 with a 200 chip ante. 10th-13th all get the same prize so there is no additional value unless you finish 9th or better. We don't know much about the villain. Perhaps he could fold something like J10 suited, or K10 offsuit. Perhaps he calls with A2-A7 or 22-66 & I'm ahead. Sometimes when you have 77 vs AQ off, you just have to win the race to continue on in the tournament. Given all the variables, folding and waiting for a better spot that may never come doesn't seem like the winning move. In order for me to lose the hand, the villain has to call me, & he has to end up with the better hand. I win whenever he folds & I win whenever I win the race.

It isn't always a flip when you get called. It is probably a push, but reasonably close.

I just don't think you can include all those hands that you say They may r/c with in his range - or even in his opening range... Depending on stacks I seriously doubt a random will be raise/calling a 15 bb mp jam with 22-55, 66 MAYBE some of the time, certainly not the baby Ax you mentioned. Additionally will almost always call wth 88+

I understand your point that this isn't ICM sensitive given your position in the tournament, and the fact the blinds are going up when you hit the BB with such a big jump is something you should have mentioned in your OP, admittedly I skipped over the top heavy pay out portion as well.
