Hey all.....was in vegas over the weekend...and FT'd a 10pm tourney @ Cesars.
I haven't made many live deals (a few on-line) when down to short-handed...so wanted to see if what we worked out was fair, and if there's anything I missed. Would love to learn from this experience for future instances. (*sorry if any of the math doesn't 100% add up...you know what it's like trying to recall live tournies)
We were 5 handed for a while and it was 3:30am...I fluctuated between chip-leader and mid-pack. Older early 50's gent was asking for a deal as soon as 5 handed started...but we declined. When got to 4 handed after loosing older gent...short stack had 5-6BB's...but CL at the time said no. We lost the shortie...and ended up.
Me: Chip leader - 161k
V1: ~140k
V2: ~70k
Blinds at time we hit 3-handed: 8k / 16k / 2k
There was approx $2,050 in the prize pool left between the top 3 spots at this point...and even chop would be ~$680ish. It was late...everyone was tired...and we decided to talk a deal.
Other info. V2 was playing tight at the FT...and was a solid, well known around the room player. V1 was a young, obv decent on-line player, who also had well known chops...and didn't get it in too light in many spots.
Given all the above...the guys wanted to start with an even chop...and I pushed for:
Me: $725
V1: $700
V2: $645
Everyone agreed pretty quickly.
Just want to check in with y'all if this was reasonable given the situation....and if I missed any EV?
Thoughts & constructive critisizm would be appreciated!
