6max FT JJ in a ICM spot... snap it or dump it? 6max FT JJ in a ICM spot... snap it or dump it?

Hey Guys,

i had a thight image for a 6max game. Villian was loose and pretty passive pre. I did not see him raising much.
We already played some hands and most of the time he did not show premium hands.

I think normally i snap this given its a 6 max game.

But here were 6 players left and ICM plays a role.
What would u do? Is a fold better?

Thanx for ur posts!

Can you put TT-99 in his range?

Pretty sure I am snapping unless he is like 35/4.

well i don't think he has a higher pocket pair by the way he played his hand, so you're a favorite and he could have easily raised all-in to steal thinking you had some fold equity. Those Ms are getting low so I would be expecting to see more steals at this point in the tournament. You're very very likely to be a favorite anyway.

Hell no can you fold here. Your image as a factor assumes your opponents are paying attention; odds are heavily in favor of you not having an image. All that most likely exists in these opponents' heads are their own cards and biases.

6-max is irrelevant. In early position, 9-handed, we're raise/calling this, so we're raise/calling this in middle position 9-handed. Your position is the equivalent of middle position at a 9-handed table. The only factor making it 6-max relevant is your effective M making it more of a losing proposition to raise/fold and validates open shoves a bit deeper.

Tables and opponents differ constantly, but the strength of your hand doesn't go up because only 6 people are dealt in, but because you never have 6-8 people left to act, e.g. The strength of your UTG hands against the likelihood of others behind you having better are like that of being 4th to act in unopened pots 9-handed before the flop.

6-max doesn't automatically turn lesser hands into monsters because less cards are dealt. 6-max effectively removes early position from textbook play. A good example of this is treating SB v. BB play at a 9-handed table similar to that at a heads-up table.
