i think its close between TT+AK and JJ+

probably lean towards TT+ AK here because hes obviously a fish and could easily show up with the 11% (or more) not the 7%

Ship it unless the 4x is unusual - and then I probably tank for a few seconds and ship anyway. A 42/8 is capable of all kinds of shenanigans at any stakes, I imagine.

A 4x here is usually skewed towards the weaker part of his range, a lot of lower pairs which he doesn't want a flop with and other overs we have enough equity against with the dead money. TT+,AK+.

If this is true (which I 100% agree with), where is the difference between TT and 99 (or even 88)?

if u think a guy playing 8% PFR 4x from first position 5 handed is raising 22-77 then your range is definitely wider than TT+ AK. I dont think this villain raises those hands.

I don't think 42/8's think about hands like this. Don't necessarily think you can discount the high pocket pairs. Also don't see a lot of 42/8's bet 4x/fold, so you may be overestimating fold equity.

I'll just throw this out there. You're in good shape five-handed in a $60 with at least one bad player still alive with a lot of chips. I wouldn't be looking for coin flips and I think that's what you'll get here at best (breakeven is him bet-calling 13% if no fold equity, maybe 11 or 12% with minimal fold equity).

I would need JJ+ here.

i think JJ/AKo seems fine. might stop n go, not a big deal but call and jam any flop (maybe unless you flop da nuts ;/)

against fish, who it seems this guy is, he MIGHT be more likely to fold pre than on the flop as a friend pointed out a while ago when discussing stop n gos but prob not when he 4x here.
