Preflop depends on who's in the blinds for me, if they're tight could be ok, I might fold vs unknown.

Flop and turn look fine.

Yeah, I usually bet river, I'd be trying to get value from 89 as well as Qx so bet small, maybe 350ish again.

Meh I fold preflop readless and raise 89o+ and I ****ing love my button.

140-160 flop

Less on the turn, it is almost like you're trying to force out his non flush hands...be nice to his weak hands I wouldn't bet more than 300

River is always a bet. Another club or straight card is an action killer so most guys are protecting small flushes on the turn (or set/2pr) and some might not even slowplay Ax Kx flushes because of the scare cards. This leaves us with a lot of Qx combos plus some Ac7x, 89, etc Like monkey said tho make it small

pf, flop & turn well played.
At river, thin value shove. We will get called by Qx, some 9x and some random stuff of random villain. Would check back on most rivers, though, but the 3 is such a blank that it doesn't fit anything (so unless he is on super trap, we are ahead) and from villains point of view, we could easy be on a 3-barrell-bluff in addition. Also, randoms really don't like to fold any 1-pair, for at least not in 6max-SnGs.

Sure make a bet on river. No need to shove here, but you need to extract some chips after he checks at you.

I also think all streets are played fine up to the river.

How often do people think a bet of ~300 gets called compared to the ~800 bet that a river should would be?

I think any queen would call 300 (the 2pair ones would raise) I think J9, K9, A9 could call 300.

I think maybe KQ and probably AQ will call 800.

Why are you opening to 3x postflop? Depends whose in the blinds, its never 'always' a fold.

as played, i fold vs loose plyr. ,raise vs tight plyr.
flop i bet 2/3 pot, turn same and maybe squeeze like a little over 1/2 pot on the river so i can get nines to call and cry here. i dont see shoving here profitable enough to get weaker hands to call.

the question here imo is why bet the turn? I personally like the bet. if you value bet the turn why not bet the river. not much has changed ( he could of course have 45) unless you know the guy to check raise made draws bet away.

Are those arguing at betting smaller than a shove on the river even looking at the effective stack sizes? The only play here IMO is to put the villain all in on the river or check behind.

+1 to Kamel's post. Randoms are never folding top pair here and as Kamel pointed out already here the river is a blank and doesn't change much at all. You're only losing on the river to a really trappy/tricky villain.

Look at it from villains perspective, on the river he has under 800 left and the pot is 1155. What hands would he really check that beat you? Maybe a couple 2 pair combos though i sorta doubt it. If you shove the river he almost certainly will call with top pair and maybe other pairs as well.
