same villian in both hands stats are 31/23 steal 40 only over 26 hands filtered

my question is should i be calling in spots like this or should i fold and wait so that i can be the one shoving

both hands are slight underdogs to a 40% steal range and folding still leaves you in 3rd in both. if you think he's shoving more than that vs. you, given stack sizes and whatnot, then it will be slightly +cEV to call but i'm pretty sure -$EV (did not do the math). i like folding both, though, as you will have still have a lot of FE shoving into the CO, and the shortstack has to contend with the big stack raping his BB in future orbits.

First one seems like a pretty standard call to me, the second one looks a lot closer, probably ok if he is really wide.
