Villain is just a standard sort of fish, kinda aggro and isnt being a ****** but sizes stuff bad and is a little too loose.

Plan was to shove on a turn bet which seems to get a lot more out of his bluffs making it better than r/c. But then on this specific turn raising doesnt really do anything. standard?

when he checks it feels like he hit that J where he had Jxcc or something. Seems odd to bluff with such solid showdown value but I really want to bet otr. Id actually feel better about my hand if he bet again.

Id raise flop probably given eff stacks. Dont think he has an ace that often, but quite a few pairs/air youre flipping with, you can fold out.

Not trolling but anyone please explain in at least one sentence what the goal of a turn raise is and against what parts of opponent's range it is effective.

i think ur line looks good and i'm really not raising turn once the 8 or Q hit

you could bluff the river to get him off of a jack, but then again who folds a jack in villains spot...doubt it's this guy, so i'm probably just checking and hoping to see 77 or a busted flush draw. he might turn up 99/TT which would definitely fold to a river barrel, but it's tough when you have SDV vs half his range...
