I had been playing very solid all night, managed to triple up from the 4000 starting chips but then slowly got ground down to about 5k Was moved to a new table when the following two hands occured.

7 Handed
Blinds 500/1000
Ante 200

Me: 5000 in BB after posting
17 left - bubble @ 9

Button - Solid Villain is by far the chipleader with over 50k in chips. He is using his stack well bullying us with a raise damn near every hand. He recently got his stack with back to back rockets and cowboys.

SB - Donk Villain is not far behind CL but is obviously a lucky calling station who lucked his way here by the way he has played the few hand I have seen.

I am dealt a7 sooted. It folds to the button who makes it 4k. SB calls. Is this a point where I should just shove it in / call and hope I catch or am I right laying this down here?

-----------------

2 hand later - I am the button.

6th seat calls, donk villain calls and I push in for the rest of my approx 4000 with 45 of hearts. I figure I have some fold equity here but not much but if called I have the kind of hand for this 3 handed situation.

The flop came three 8's and I was kaput. 6th seat has kq, turns a king and wins with the boat. The solid villain had nada.

My question is did I get this reversed? Did I play hand one like a pusscake and then get too aggro on hand 2? Was hand one and inflection point and should I have called with the suited ace?

These low-m / on the bubble situations are where I have the bulk of my trouble these days. I try to aim for first and I feel I was too timid here then overcompensated.

Your opinions?
Thanks for your help

you have no fold equity in second hand

I don't think you have much fold equity in the second hand, especially since you were on the button and there were much money in the pot. Therefore, you have to assume that someone is calling you. 45 suited just isn't much of a hand in this situation, so I'd wait for a better spot.

And I think your fold was correct in the first hand. But once again, being on the bubble on your own is one thing and giving an advice from an armchair is something else..
