Full Tilt Poker $5 + $0.50 Sit & Go No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t50/t100 Blinds - 8 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

MP2: t1560
CO: t2130
BTN: t2760
SB: t1315
BB: t1290
Hero (UTG): t1525
UTG+1: t825
MP1: t2095

Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with A K
Hero raises to t1525 all in

How horrible is this? I ran it in Wiz with calling ranges of ~5% for all but BB, who I set at 10%. Are these ranges reasonable? Wiz says it's a push with QQ+, but I can't seem to bring myself to fold it, and raising any amount sucks as well. I would think this has to be +EV, but do we ignore Wiz here, or is this just a basic easy fold (please say no)?

EDIT - Oh yeah, table has been nitty, hence so many still left at this blind level.

Raising to only 250 is 16% of my stack, which sucks imo.

not everything in poker is black and white, sometimes you have to walk the line in those little nasty gray spots.

In not sure how standard that is as I think we lose value unless someone finds Aq and calls, but raisin let's other weak aces/hands get in, which is good cuz we crush them. Shovin makes other weak opponents make the better move which is folding their Ax, as for when u raise, you are avoiding their folds cuz they might call and then stack with weaker aces.

I would always push there, mostly because there isn't really any way for me to get away from the hand if I was to raise 2.5x. In these low limit games there is a big chance of a smaller ace calling you there.

Just raise it 275-300 and call a shove. Most often Ax is not calling utg 10bb shove (5$?). Only hands which call here are high pairs and AK for a split imo...Let they make mistake to shove over AQ or AJ...pairs JJ+ are probably shoving anyway and we are calling. So most value can be reached by rasing/calling. But in most cases we take the blinds here. Cbet most flops.

Raising to 300 and getting cold called by someone leaves you in the gross spot of being OOP (except against blinds) with AK, a 1200 chip stack, and like a 750 chip pot.

I might shove depending on table here, but more often would just raise to 5-600, call any shove, and shove just about any flop. Is this awful?

It would be nice to get the extra value from weaker Aces here.

Raise to t250 and play it from there.

Explain? Areas like this are by far the worst of my game. I have a decent ROI, but these are huge blunders if I keep making them.

Edit: Actually, nevermind. I thought about it for 30 more seconds and yeah, that line is terrible. Bleh, should probably think more before I follow a standard line I thought up months ago.

Yea I'm not quite sure wat to do in these spots - AKo and AQo UTG with 12BB-15BB on a nitty table.

EDIT: after reading thread - I like Ger's line. Its just that I feel I'm too deep to shove. But then again, if we shove and double up we probably have some killer FE later on for blind stealing later. Meh, still not sure what to do here...
