600-1200. 40K effective. Habitual limper limps cutoff, I raise to 4K with A8s on button, both blinds and limper call.

Flop is AsJc4c. All check

Turn is Ts. Checked to me, I bet 10K, BB (no reads, newish to table) calls.

River is a red Jack, Villain jams, he covers by about 5K.

Seems like a fold. Straights get there. His Jack got there. He could easily have a better Ace also. I'm folding.

As played, I would lean towards a call. Not super happy, but what is your calling range here? Your hand doesn't look like Ax. It looks like you tried to take a stab at the pot and missed or a marginal hand that can't call a river bet. Most players would bet any Ace on the flop multiway.

There are a lot of draws that missed. You are basically putting this guy on Jx. I think there are a lot of other hands that they can have. I think 2 pair leads the turn, and so do sets after the flop gets checked around. So you are basically worried about
KJ, QJ, J9. But there are so many flush draws and straight draws that have missed.

I have been experimenting with an over-limp range recently and this is a hand that plays well from the button multi-way. Assuming both blinds come along, we get to the same place OTF with a much wider range IP. Then, I definitely would bet the flop 1/3 to 40%.

Agree with this.

Hmm I feel we should go a bit bigger pre here to really isolate a limper. This is a meh spot 4 ways but yea I like bet bet check line here and feel we can get away with small bet sizings. Maybe go 1/4, and bigger on turn. 1/3, 1/3 looks strong and is good too. No reason to value bet river if checked to bc worse hands aren’t calling.

You underrepped your hand, but you still have 20 plus big blinds left.

I annoyingly fold.

Agree with most posters that you should have bet flop. I don't understand how they say bet turn when you don't know what would have happened if you bet flop!

I think you are good here a lot, though. I just don't like to lose my stack when I can still do a lot of damage with 20 bigs.
