My theory in general in shove situations with small pairs (up through 10-10) is that it's bad to call shoves with them. Unless the blinds are huge, you have a read that the player who shoved is loose, or it's 2-3 handed, there is just no way you're dominating this guy. MAYBE he shows up with 6-6 through 8-8 like 2% of the time, but other than that you are PRAYING for a flip. Whenever you're praying to have a 50-55% chance to win the pot, it's probably a good time to fold.
