Hey,

i was playing pretty active TAG.
He was the fish at the table, calling too much in and out of position.

I think the open is standart.
What to do on that flop?
Standart c-bet? Or would you start with a check?

Now when he is(min)raising me, what range would you give him?

Thanx for ur posts!

I'd make a standard cbet there unless I know villain is never folding. On the flop... I'd say he probably has any PP and 9x. If he's been pretty passive, I'd easily let this go. If he's some kind of super aggressive fish, I think I'd get it in because of the amount already in the middle.

Beginners thoughts If you saw that he was trying to outplay people after the flop, and throw them out of the pot, then this is probably clear shove. If that's not the case, I would say the same as Elachim, that he has 9x or PP and you should rather fold.

are fish really raising flops they crush and like nobody else can? maybe i guess. seems more likely youre just way ahead vs like some smaller pair. id be more worried about float because you know hes not doing it cause he thinks you missed. imo i get this is in pretty happily vs cally fish. if you think because he min raised youre beat imo youre losing value. fish tend to donk flops they think you missed and this raise seems similar to that thought process

I would say you are ahead more often then not too. I think this looks like fish called a small PP and thinks he got a good flop. Just from my perspective if I was in villains shoes this is a great bored, dry as hell, if I hit a 9 and I wouldn't try and bet you out on the flop I would be calling letting you bet more on other streets. I would also think higher PP is out of the question since he raises JJ+

Well played hand.

Like ela said, the rest is dependent on villain tendencies.

Fold to most players except the super aggressive/fishy ones.

...i also put him on a pp. Higher PP would raise pre. Lower pp are beaten by my 88. Given potsize and stacks i put it all in.

But i think i forgot some factors:
- he was loose but not very aggro, he was not raisung often
- a loose passive guy like this has some 9s in his range like A9, T9, J9
- passive players may just call with lower pp like 66 77
- generally a utg raise + cbet gets alot of credit
