UTG player has been playing loose, seen him bluff a lot of times and getting lucky pushing with the worst hand.. I just didn'tknow how to react to his minraise here, as I'm the shortstack with blinds killing me I figured his range to be somewhere around 66+, and wondering if i made the right thing.

I'm generally am not a fan of the stop and go but I'm gonna agree here. Barring some read on BB that would make a stop and go a bad idea of course.

I'm sort of new to this, can anyone explain what a stop n go is? Without any sarcasm?

a stop and go means you would call this raise preflop, and then push any flop. There is a thread about it in the anthology in the top of the page, if the link still works.

call, then shove any flop. you must be OOP and against a player like your villian. if you use the search engine , i believe you'll find many threads that explain this concept in more detail

I don't feel like doing any math, but seems like you don't have enough chips to have any FE on a flop shove doing a sng. I mean the pot will be like 15k and you'll have like 9k left, ideally you want to have a psb or slightly more. If he's really loose, and with 6k dead in the pot I can't imagine you're that far behind his range. I don't mind a sng I guess but I really can't imagine him folding post ever so I don't know that it matters.

If anyone cares, I did shove preflop and ran into AKo.. the board bricked and I placed 9th.
