This is the 8th hand of the tournament. I have seen him checking a bunch in the BB when people open limps to him, never getting funky unnecessarily. He opened raised twice and folded to my 3-bet once pre-flop.

His lead out made me think that he was semi-weak and probably on a flush draw, so I raised. The re-raise came as a surprise and I was not sure whether he is capable of doing that solely on a flush draw.

Please give thoughts on my line and tell me what would you do here?

your description of villain does not really make much sense for a 8hands samplesize.

positions are messed up, i'd flat the 40 and go from there asuming SB lead and you are in BB. as played fold since he will have 7x more often than FDs/air/Ax fme.

sorry about the mess. i was BB, not UTG. well, in the past 8 hands, that was what happened, people open limping and checking it down to SHOWDOWN with him lol.

Call flop, literally no point in raising

His lead otf can mean many things in BvB.
PP, 7x, or an Ace too and you don`t know if 9 is good enough kicker here.

Watch there are 2 spades otf and you have none of them.
Any spade on later street would kill the action for you, but you still can get another ace and lock the hand.

Just potcontrol in position.
No need to increase the pot when you hit an Ace on the wet flop, espacially w 9 kicker.
