Final table. Villain running 26/14 over 160 hands but lately he's been a bit more active. I wouldn't say that he's competent but he's not a drooler either. I'm quite sure he's bad enough to have a raise-fold range here. My image is tight.

I've seen him open shove 15-20bb from late positions so I assume he opens either crap or premium (~88+, AQ+) hands at this spot. 3x is his std open size. I know I can't fold forever but I'm not sure if villain folds enough here to make shoving +EV. Without considering ICM I need 31% fold equity here if my calculations are correct. So, fold or ai ?

if villain openshoves with his shovestack and then suddenly openraise it 3x, i assume he s very strong. i dont think he s opening crap, cause he can shove around 80% of his hands profitable.
You have def 0 foldequity! if ur shovin villain gets odds to call ATC, so he commits himself with opening. and i guess he knows that, even if he's a fish.
I know it sucks to fold a Pocket with 10bb but ur crushed most of the times if u make the shove

just fold. Really doubt we have much FE to a 3x here at 11bb eff, especially sb vs button.

^^ agree, not much FE here with 11bbs and the fact that he's been shoving and now opening 3x in a spot where it's profitable to shove real wide suggests to me he has a hand here and wants action

Relatively small sample size, don't look too much into stats here... would need sick read/previous history of him raise/folding this stack.. as explained, fold

when someone 3x's on the button after altering their raise size and I shove, they never fold. Just saying.

I used to feel this way, and even just intuitively "how can they 3x and fold?" but honestly I think you'd be surprised how many times people 3x/fold and even 4x/fold in spots like this. In this particular spot though, I'm undecided.
