No meaningful stats on villain, he snap-shoved.
Having bet big OTR it seems like a such a weird/unlikely line for him to take on a bluff or for value with anything we beat, so do we expect to have the best hand enough here to call..?

Thoughts on the line would be appreciated also.. 3bet pre, checking turn maybe?

fold pre and call now, he's obv not bluffing, but he can obviously overplay a lot of combos we beat

Fold or 3b pre - mostly folding.
Way more on turn like prob ~1050.
As played we are often beat but not sure we can/want to fold would be a very disciplined one.

Likely hands:

AA, QQ, AQ, AK.

Less likely given pf raise:

88, 89,Q9, A9, K9

I think you're probably beat here and you have enough chips to wait for a better chance to double up. I can say fold, but I don't know if I would have the discipline to do it.

+1

sick spot, since you have already played this hand preflop, and now you have to call on the river

why is this a fold pre? suited one gapper, discounted price with antes facing button raise with a hand that plays reasonably well post flop.

We are OOP ~33bb eff - meaning that we cannot play this type of hand profitably post flop

we need to make enough on each call to account for all the times we have to c/f to a c bet. The problem is because it is a button open his range is wide enough that even when we do make a big hand we may make very little to nothing post flop.

read up on conditions needed for implied odds...SCs and small pairs do not fare well here and are better suited to 3 bets or folds
