Happy Early Thanksgiving everyone back in the states or celebrating it tomorrow.

I just got done with making eclairs for tomorrow.

Having a big ol duck tomorrow isntead of the turkey.

Happy T-day

We combine T-day and Hanukkah and have turkey, brisket, and latkes.

Brisket is so good if right piece of meat and cooked good.

I'm jealous.

Last time I had brisket was at a southern BBQ shop out in PA lol. Course it was a huge let down and does the south no justice to how they can BBQ.

Edit*

You made me google latkes.

Are they anything other than a fancy word for hash browns?
11-26-2014 , 08:32 PM
They are hash brownish, but >>>> hash browns. Well, my Mom's are anyway. I've had pretty bad latkes before.

Also, the brisket is very good, but different than the southern style BBQ brisket, at least what I've had.

This is pretty close

This isn't that close for the brisket, but the closest I could find

What's she put in them? I'm a fan of adding garlic, onions, and some herbs. I'm also weird in the sense I love to use ketchup or maple syrup as a topping on them.

My gf just rocks them as is. I do it time to time, but, I am a bigger fan ketchup.

Also dat brisket. So tasty looking. Want to touch.

When I use to cook brisket, I'd cook it nice and slow for about 10 hours. Man I miss it. Think I'll cook one soon.

The brisket does cook for hours.

The latkes are potatoes, onions, egg, salt I think. If that's not it, I'll find out tomorrow. It's a group effort.

No topping other than salt.

I get free dinner at work. It's prison food, so I'm not expecting to be overwhelmed, but the price is right. Wifey also has promised to bring home leftovers from the real thanksgiving, so I'll end up having two dinners and holiday pay. it works.

You work at a prison? My step-dad works at a prison. If so, hopefully you got a good gig like him. Think he faces very little interaction with prisoners. He also works in a maximum security prison.

I have lots of interaction, but Idaho is a pretty mellow place with pretty mellow prisons.

Happy Thanksgiving sttf, Be grateful!

I'm grateful today for pineapple baked beans. They are the true staple of my dinner other than the desert of eclairs.

Hope everyone has a good day/evening.

It's all NFC though. Seriously bad scheduling by the NFL again.

These guys are terrible. Let's pay people millions of dollars to do jobs that they can never do well.

For all people who are tired of the Super Hero/Comic movies of the modern era. I highly recommend trying out "Gotham" the TV series. It's quickly to me the antidote.

Enjoy.

Happy thanksgiving!
It's closing in on 10 years for me on 2p2 and its made me really introspective.

while I appreciate the sharing, it would seem to make more sense for me to just ignore everything having to do with Super Hero/Comic's and watch something else having nothing to do with it/them. that's my plan.

No brisket.

I've already had the first leftover turkey sandwich.

Night all.

I'd try to give at least 1 episode a shot.

I'd rather wait for a show to have a good few seasons before I start watching. There's been way too many shows that started out great that turned to complete crap.

I can get behind that approach.

I will say though, through the 1st 10 episodes (the 1st half of the season) it is a golden egg. I don't normally call shows golden eggs or even movies. But this show is gold. I'd be very surprised if they botched this show the 1st season. Maybe the 2nd season, but it's great.

It's 45-50 mins an episode and does not make it feel like a mini-batman movie. It's more of a suspense/drama.

It's aimed at going into how the villains turn into villains, how Bruce Wayne turns into Batman, and how Gotham turns into Gotham.

Right now this show is better to me than Game of Thrones. Better than those shows like Breaking Bad, easily better than Sons of Anarchy(that show is a mediocre show) and I like it a lot more than all of the batman movies.

Although I do think the Batman movies are the best of all the Comic/Super Hero movie genre. It's got a little darkness to it but it still needs to go darker and this show is doing that for me.

If anyone ends up watching this show, I'd love to hear what you think about it. I imagine this show could go 4-5 seasons if they do it well before the start to stall and force the ending.

I know, politics, but what is interesting here is that the biggest difference between conservatives and liberals is whether you want to live in a small walkable neighborhood or a more neighborhood with more open space.

The Knick with Clive Owen is great. It's a medical drama set in 1900 at the end of the dark ages of surgery where barbers were still amputating legs, but the xray was introduced in hospitals.
