Villain comes from France and is unknown (25/25 over 4 hands). I had a bad feeling about the hand but I think I need to get it in here vs rando ?

I guess an aggressive player would definately be able to RR wider here if he expects you to rise with a somewhat wide range to take down both the blinds and micro. How ever - readless I think this is not a very good spot to get your chips in. A random rec player won't RR wide here; I guess a range of QQ+ and AK at best (from our point of view). But even a good player will be quite tight here and that is because the hand is a mandatory showdown because of the micro stack. That fact should lead to two conclusions:

A) Since you have to showdown even if everyone else folds you can't be that wide here (because there's not much point in raising a weak hand here and because showing down some crap like A2o won't be good for your table image unless you actually want people to believe you're a maniac)

B) Since he knows that his range for 4-betting should be even tighter here. Of course you should raise enough wide here to have a fold range to a 4-bet, but I believe a majority of your range should call. And if he expects you to fold often the side pot is only about 900 - not much for risking 5K of his stack without a decent hand, should you (or any of the 3 players behind) play back at him.

So unless we know we're up against a maniac I would take the safe route and fold here, even if it sucks. It would be interesting though to know if better MTT-players than me have another opinion here.

UTGs range should be close to ATC which means you could iso most of the stuff you would open here anyway like ~20% of hands
if he is a nit just fold but vs most players i would get JJ in here and i would for sure in this spot.

thing is CO is never 3b/f here and would just call some smaller pairs, so without some reads I probably fold here.
