These bubble situations are tough with 3BB Stacks. In my experience it is better to wait for someone else to bust out, because you have to play to cash now on not to win with this stack.
I would wait until the 1BB stack busts or another player makes a big Mistake which is common. But AK is probably a too strong Hand to fold. Its really tricky.

you have to shove both
can't really let a PP and AK go

In a normal situation you are right. But here you can fold yourself in the money and save 100% Roi for this tournament. I would only fold if there is a 1BB Stack. If iam the shortest stack i shove for sure.

Folding urself to the money is what f***s up ur ROI imo. You need to take all of these +EV calls before u get there. Right before the bubble is when u should.
In the first case i would assume that the button is pushing on the table for the exact same reason. A shove most of the times provides free chips (fold) or a showdown where u are probably ahead. If he happens to have a monster move on. All this depends on reads but is pretty the norm in pre bubble situations.

shove both and if you bust out then fml.
I have a rule when it comes to AKo in 45 mans. Everytime you are dealt AK after ante kicks in make sure your stack goes in the middle preflop.

Like i said. I fold only if there is a 1BB Stack. Why risk 100% ROI on a Coinflip? When u double up you are not a big Stack, so you dont gain much Equity but when you loose the flip you have 0%.

Because the prizes are 3-top heavy?Becuase even if u dont win its +EV in the long run. Because u got AK,because i can, repeat can NOT fold or call anything with AK in the bubble. All this has been discussed so much i'm not gonna tire ppl more.

I played in a live tourney one time where a player was in your situation. He mucked because the bb was all in blind, I was sb and button tries some ridiculous isolation attempt and to get heads up w/ bb, (why IDK cause they were all idiots). So button pushed his stack, he has me covered, I look down @ AK, and I am not short by any means. Of course I call and neither of us connect, but he had A10. Now bb triples up, (of course my chips from button more than make up for anything lost) and guy who mucked said he would have taken the pot essentially KO'ing other player while increasing his stack. He went out a few hands later not cashing.

Morale to my story, don't sit and wait for someone with a short stack to bust and mucking +EV spots. Marginal +EV maybe, but not +EV spots, get them in.
