More info on stats please, stats for whole sng or 4-6 handed etc ?
If he has been limping a decent amount at bb400/600 (more specifically on the bubble) I jam reallll quick otherwise this looks shady as ****

Shoving this would be suicidally bad imo. This is the kind of spot where you expect to have tons of fold equity but if he understood how it is, he would never have limped in the first place. Expect to see a monster from a guy with his stats basically always.

You will need some information, something more then hud stats. Have you seen some tendencies lately.. Have people been shoving wide on eachother because of bubbleboy? He might have something like AJ and want to see a flop with a good hand. But he dont want to raise pre bc he is afraid someone is shoving on him. If you know he is capable of folding i would shove wide here.

If people have been wild shoving on eachother, i would go ahead and fold. Its likely he is trapping, then i would recog checking.

unless I've missed something I see this as a easy check (preflop).

you assured of 3rd place at worst if you do... as CO will be AI next hand.

whilst weak I'd fold to a flop bet by villian unless you flop a monster like 55x or JJx.

Why to complicate something that is already simple? Just c/f the flop and move on imo.

What would be nasty imo is seeing a flop of J 2 2.......

Yea if he had like 33/8 stats or 30/22 stats i'd be a lot more inclined to shove.. Has the huge stack been raping the bubble? If so he could be calling just to try to induce from the big stack.

If u want to steal this pot, I don't see whats so horrible about checking and then min donking every flop. He is gonna fold a lot of the time and you don't risk your entire tournament to steal the pot.

The old me used to shove this but after many, many, many ridiculous calls from villains (making my shoves ridiculously bad) I now would need more than J/5 to shove in a spot like this.

with the shove i assume you not trying to pwn his range with your J5o, doesnt matter whatever it is. for the shoving the problem is you not gain much equity even if he is folding a big portion of his range but risking your whole stack for that insignificant lead.
check and lets see how it plays out,, theres a good chance to get that 1bb by some silly 1bb cbet on the flop (if its dry and checked to you) without risking your whole stack for the same income.
also playing postflop might scare him as well since if he doesnt have something good-enough in his mind than its unlikely he will try to bluff you and go deeper when its an <1bb stack on the bubble.

In my point of view it is a shove, i saw many many times villains limping with medium strength hands because they see it to week to shove and are folding here most of the time. Other thing to consider here is as mentioned before when you win(most of the time) you don't win much equity but if you get called and loose it is major equity drop, but even so sometimes you will win when get called. All things considered i am leaning to a push here.

Pwning is overrated, and in this spot simply silly. Check now, c/f flop even if you flop TP imo.

Easy check against this kind of opponent. We should probably be shoving against some obvious limptards who have no clue, but it's not like we're going to be able to pwn the bubble. Shorty is about to bust & we still won't be the big stack.

Short stack is all-in next hand. If you shove and end up getting called and losing, you are also all-in next hand but with a shorter stack and will probably not make the money. Seems like a huge risk to take with a hand like J5 against a mostly unknown opponent. Just check and c/f any none huge flop.
