villain posts in hsmtt quite a bit. don't know how he plays so that's all i really have to go on. he has 100k+ profit.
only a few hands into the tourney but on my first button i opened, he flatted from BB and c/f flop.
was kinda tempted to barrel turn and river after he checks back, but this early there are probably better spots to be had.

Fold pre to his sizing/these stacks. As played, you are always beat.

If you had position would you call pre?

Not against a good hsmtter, prolly against a mediocre reg or a random.

Perca, what's wrong with setmining pre? What's your rule of thumb for the implied odds we need OOP against a good reg?

TT isn't a great setmining hand, and villain isn't stacking off often enough/we're not getting enough value.

How much deeper would it need to be to make this a call, though?

I understand folding OOP with 1010 but I don't understand why set mining pre in position is a bad play

Would prolly peel at 4k, but then I wouldn't be entirely setmining as I would probably not fold to one barrel, and would have to reevaluate turn/river.

Thanks Perca, might consider folding in this kind of spot from now on!

I know our hand is pretty face up if we flatcall pre but I still do it cuz its definately a profitable spot (imo). Maybe we could feasibly fold against a good reg (as perca said).

Turn is a c/f, wp
