no real reads, but neither of them has done anything crazy/dumb yet. Normally I never have a problem getting it in with AK, but this is pretty early in the tourney and we are pretty deep.

Strikes me as a pretty easy fold since you should probably assume you're behind at least one of the two.

Actually, I've seen a very similar hand live and it sparked all kinds of conversation afterward. As I remember, it went something like this:

BTN: raise
SB: call
BB: all-in
BTN: call
SB: call

The guy in the SB was the one who really agonized over his call and after about a minute, made it. BTN flipped over 99. BB flipped over AJ. SB flipped over AK. The 99 when on to win and afterward that guy gave it to the SB (they were friends) for calling when he should have assumed he was behind.

Long answer to a simple question.

I think you can safely fold this at this buyin. Lower stakes I call without thinking.

Should always be a fold.

Brutal spot. This is not an easy fold.

What I would rely on here is my read of MP2 only. I don't care the button and am willing to gamble another 2k with him with that stack. You can lose to the button and beat MP2 and be the better for it. So MP2 is what it's all about. If you know he would move with less than KK AA AK, or 3-bet you light with say 88+ AJ+, I get it all in there. If not ...I don't and fold.

I general I think that the shortstack has a wider shoving range than just QQ-AA,AKo+. It is also worh mentioning that it is a knockout tournament, and in my experience people play them a little more agressive than normal tournies.
I agree that MP2 is who im afraid of, not the button. I am more to willing to get it in with AK against him. The problem is that MP2 might have me crushed, and then I have put infinite bigblinds in against a hand where I have very little equity. Still not sure if I like a push or fold with ak here, more opinions are welcome

I shove here all the time. If mp has it, whatever, gg, nh but with all that dead money in the pot and AK, I'm never folding. MP can't call here without KK or AA, if he has QQ, your not in a bad spot.

Definitely a fold if nothing else but how deep you are with MP2. It's either shove or fold and I think you run into the top of his range enough that you're screwed between the two of them. If effective stacks were just the 2k that he shoved I get it in and pray the guy in between folds (not to say the 4bettor has a really loose range, just that his range isn't nearly as light as the guy inbetween is calling).

because of mp2 this is a fold. if mp2 flatted, i shove. your range to shove is QQ+ here and folding QQ can't be so bad.
