12 left AKo flat or 3 bet? 12 left AKo flat or 3 bet?

Hi guys, I want to get some opinion on this preflop situation.
We are 12 left in a 15$ tourney of 500+ entries, and I am the chipleader.

UTG is a fish, he just lost a big hand, and I suspect he is a bit tilted. That said, that is just an impression and I don't feel confident enough to make a decision based on that.

Here's what happened:

Blinds 6k-12k

UTG (72643 in chips) 6 BB
MP (482728 in chips)
CO (429809 in chips) 40 BB
BTN Hero (888525 in chips) 74 BB
SB (538528 in chips)
BB (235228 in chips)

Dealt to Hero [Kd Ah]

UTG: raises 59343 to 71343 and is all-in
MP: folds
CO: calls 71343
Hero: ??

In this situation I am not sure if the best course of action is shove or to flat.
In game I shoved, UTG showed KTo and CO flatted with JJ.
But maybe it is better to flat IP and see a flop, so that we can get away if we flop nothing? Also, if we flop CO should not bluff us out of the hand, because it doesn't make sense for him to bluff given that is gotta win a showdown to take the pot down anyway.
We are 12 left and I have a great stack, there are a lot of shortcomings in going to war with CO, flatting would allow me to avoid a huge coinflip. Moreover, CO might be slowplaying a monster, in which case we are ****ed.

I believe flatting here might be the best option, even if we might have a lot of fold equity against CO.
What do you guys think? Thanks a lot to whoever would respond.

In game you have to calculate your pot odds before making a decision... Always
Here you have to put 6bb to fight for a pot of around 20bb

Easy flat and play postflop. CO cold calling range here is full of pockets pairs and AJ+. With position you can see turns and maybe rivers without putting a single chip more

I think you played it well
CO is likely to have the same read as you on UTG and can be calling here with lots of hands that figure to be ahead of UTG's range but cannot call a shove - just got unlucky that he had a hand to call in this instance. ( and even when called it's not terrible)
