It's the bubble and my table is playing tight. They have also seen that I am willing to call re-raises quite light, which makes me think SB would have shoved preflop with anything premium.

I decided to wait until river to maybe fire again cos I think he calls turn with everything.

Well that goes to my raising to 3xbb rather than less. I believe that these two stacks will not re-raise without a very strong hand so long as they are convinced that pot odds will surely require me to call.

remember also it's a KO so if they shove over me I am getting an overlay that's worth 1/6th of buyin

this mindset is why there are so many ppl who play ko's so badly.

what do you mean? are you saying that it's not actually a good idea for a big stack to call looser in these?

its the final table,....the $$$ you lose by calling is far greater than the 1/6 buyin you win....really simple concept

I'm not sure I follow. Why will there be a problem if you simply add $2 to every EV estimate when you can KO the villain?

? i don't understand why you're choosing to go that route when your post-per-day count is like 1.5x mine

its not a "problem", its just a fact the chips u lose at the ft are worth more than the ko bounty, its not that hard to understand, right?

if i got ur thoughts right, u think that a lose call ( 2 3o in ur example) could be made up by the 2$ ko bounty added to the EV, right? dont get it wrong, but i seriously have to ask, wether u been attending 3rd grade math lessons?

oh, sorry if i wasn't clear. no, i don't think the bounty is enough in this hand to make the call +EV. however, it very well might be if instead of 23o i was holding something like 9To. regardless, it makes the call less unprofitable by $2! which is substantial when I'm getting 2:1 on a call and it's already close in most cases....that said i was folding THIS garbage to a re-shove.
as for third grade, i skipped it

What on earth are you doing. Fold pre x 4183749123758915, and if you don't then for the love of god don't 3x.

Also, what do you think he has on the river that he wants to fold.

Any pair that's been counterfeited and any Queen- or Jack-high.

So you're basically hoping he has 55-22, JThh, QThh or QJhh?

people are more stubborn than that, i think, once they call preflop against someone who has been pretty aggro like me. i.e. there are more broadway combos than just the draws. in fact, the broadways with the FD are probably NOT in his range so much on the river....backdoor FD on flop, yeah
