$100 live tournament. It's the second level, blinds are 50/100. I have a rather short stack after losing a previous hand. I have about 6K, we started with 10K. The rest of the table covers me.

I am in middle position with 6-6. Suits not important and I don't remember them anyway.

V1 is a new face. He hasn't done anything noteworthy. He is probably a typical villain - loose, passive, chases too much.

I raise to 300 and get 1 caller in LP.

Pot: $750 Flop: 3 4 10 rainbow

I c-bet $400 and V calls.

Pot: $1550 Turn: 5

I bet 800 and V calls. (uh-oh)

Pot: $3150 River: 6

Hero doesn't know whether to value bet or not.

Yup, you block a lot of straight draws. You beat nearly all sets apart from an unlikely 10 10, and this is live, nearly all 2 pairs will call, and you may get calls from stuff like A10, or even like 88/99. Never underestimate what you might get called off with live.

Definitely. I think you can make it bigger than 1.4 also.

Likely hands are Tx or air. Air he fold regardless of your bet, and KT, AT, JJ will pay off 1800-ish as often as 1400.

I think you're nearly always ahead here as you would've likely heard on the turn from the reasonable hands (which are relatively unlikely to begin with) which beat you - {TT,A2,76} - and you have blockers on 76s/76o. (I include the offsuit hands in his range as this is live play, after all.)

Since villain is often folding gutshot draws on the flop (villain's tendencies not clear from OP), I think that your set is well ahead of his range, the remainder of which likely consists of sets, hands with a ten and SCs that made two-pair: {JJ,44,33,8T-AT,65,54}.

I would bet 1/2p on the river and call a raise (as long as it isn't some insanely large overshove). If we bet 2/3p or more, he may fold {JJ,8T-KT} and I think those hands form a sufficiently large portion of his range that a smaller river bet is likely the most +EV option.

b/fold river 1400-1800. turn is the interesting street imo and can see wanting to bet/fold in a live setting

yea bet river he shouldn't have too many 7's or 2's in his range

you`d have to triple occasionally then, but I doubt you`d fold out some better hands and wouldn`t get more than 2 streets from worse.

yes c/c turn.

Results: I bet the river (I forget how much), villain called and showed A-2 for the straight.
