I tried joining a table today I guess right as someone else was and it gave me a pop up to either go on the waitlist or sit at a different table. After hitting join wait list, it told me that feature wasn't available yet.
I think what is most surprising to me is, that they actually REMOVED the waitlist feature or something to that effect.
Let me try to explain, Before they let you see what tables were running, my friends and I would just press on the stakes table and press "enter". You would start railing a table at that stake and there was a button to waitlist. My friends and I would do this until we manage to waitlist a table we were on, etc.
So then they allowed you to see the tables and pick them, but no waitlist button?!
Are you saying Current Lobby+Waitlist > Old Lobby > Current Lobby ?
I cant think of any reasons to think this.
I can def understand arguments for:
Current Lobby+Waitlist > Current Lobby > Old Lobby
(I think majority would agree with this)
Old Lobby was best
well, as a comparison between the old lobby and the current lobby, there seems to be less games running now then there previously was. idk if that is related to the lobby change or a number of other factors.
in the old lobby, there was at least the ability to waitlist one table which made it easier to get into games. the current lobby lacks that feature, but similarly to the old lobby, one has to constantly watch the lobby for open seats to appear and hope that they click/notice faster than someone else who was waiting.
the addition of the waiting list feature to the current lobby seems to only make the current lobby better since it means one doesn't have to constantly watch the lobby to get into a game, as well as increases the incentive to start new tables if they see that the current tables running all have multiple people waiting to join.
anyways, i think thats the general argument for this ranking:
Current Lobby+Waitlist > Old Lobby > Current Lobby
tl;dr i suppose the main reason for this ranking is that the decrease in traffic isn't made up for in the convenience or not having to open and close tables constantly.
Not going to build up any of the limit games or games other than 6 handed NLHE without waitlists. One, maybe two tables going and most people will log off without playing rather than jump on a game they don't play or open a new table.
