I created the 1.5km (not mile) buffer zone. I chose that distance based on the theoretical accuracy of the various location services we're using. I fully expect to be able to reduce that distance as we turn that theoretical information into actual, empirical data. And we haven't stopped for one minute investigating other approaches that may allow us to include more players.
Will we ever be able to get rid of the buffer zone entirely? Probably not. But the LAST thing we want to do is prevent legitimate customers, in Nevada, from playing on Ultimate Poker.
does that mean sooner or later u will allow us to get some kind of GPS tracking device for those of us unable to show up with a NV isp any other way? i still cant get online in Jean and verizon cant give me a NV isp on my laptop here, they think id get one in vegas, but i fear i still wont. id have to be smack in the middle of NV to be 100% sure.
also, this is a big annoyance, u are in the USA, not Europe, no one here is familiar with kilometers or knows how to translate that into miles. please say how many miles that buffer is, and STOP referring to it in kilometers. u cant possibly be from the USA. a lot of readers would really appreciate this.
