It's called moire. It's caused when camera sensor resolution, pixel size, and down sampling (shrinking the picture) combine with angles in your scene not matching the individual sensors of your camera - in this case the slats of the blinds are at an angle compared to the sensor. The camera/photo editor does the best they can resolving the issue. It's pretty common, but that's a severe example.

I just got a bill from my Dr. for the last routine visit. They cleaned my ears but nothing else but a basic checkup.

$318.94.

Is this really how much it costs now?

If you had any kind of procedure done for less than 10k, it was a billing error. Expect a corrected invoice.

I talked to them on the phone and they said this was correct.

I went in for a checkup and told them my ears had been ringing, which I suspected was due to allergies.

Here is the breakdown of my bill.

Emotional/Behavioral asssesment - $25.00
Preventive care - $193.00
Office Visit - $175.00
Ear cleaning - $80.00 + $20.00

Aetna paid $2.55

Total due $318.94

When I noticed that the line items were even more than the bill suggests, I called again. They have absolutely no explanation for that one. It's basically "just pay the bill"

"Not what I came in for, nor did I ask for this on arriving. Not paying unnecessary charges." ?

Yeah, im not good at rational thinking in these situations.

She tried to explain to me that this was really 2 visits since im a new patient. This pissed me off even more since i had been a patient with them for quite some time but since i didn't go during covid they labeled me a new patient.

Doctor office called. She told me that Aetna did not approve the preventative care and therefore they cant charge me.

This makes no sense to me other than doctors try to milk insurance as much as possible.

Good for me but I can't help but to think our healthcare system is really messed up.

In other health news, biggerwife has covid.

Sorry to hear that Mrs. Boat has covid. Is this a recurrence? Seems as if I remember you writing some time back she had it.

Best wishes, hope it's a mild case.

You are absolutely correct on USA#n health care. I don't know what the answer is, but it's appalling we can't have decent health care as a basic right.

Thanks.

No, this is the first time she's had it. I think I'm the last human to have never had it.

Its "mild" but she's still miserable.

We have a ton of Sahara dust in the air right now. That on top of my usual Florida allergies are making me feel pretty bad. Somewhat similar symptoms to early covid so I keep thinking i have it. But i continue to test negative.

Mrs. Boat is feeling pretty bad. Not severe but definitely worse than mild. She never gets sick so its kinda strange.

Crazy virus.

You probably have it. Lol Sahara dust. Those home tests aren't too great, at least at the start. Hopefully you're acting as if you do have it and not out spreading it around. A PCR test would probably be positive.

Yeah. I'm starting to be a little concerned as we approach crunch time. Let me know if you need any help and I will send Zeno and zee over.
