My brain is a roller coaster. Almost every day another unit in our complex is up for sale. None are selling. The only not-negative thing I can think about is that ours is literally twice as big as any unit for sale. There are only 4 units as large as ours and none have ever been up for sale as long as I've lived here.

The hardcover version of the first book is done and I've ordered samples. Still have some technical issues with amazon on the softcover but hopefully they get ironed out soon.

Do children's books typically do better in hard and soft covers, rather than in digital editions?

That's a mighty fine question.

My knowledge of such things is almost nil.

I haven't really sold enough to know. And, I haven't even created digital editions, although I think I will now.

For the most part I've written these for my own entertainment. I'm beyond horrible at self promotion. I haven't really tried to market them at all. Although, I think I will try to up my game in this respect.

the books aren't your primary source of income?

Everything sells quickly if you price it right. You need to decide what is more important to you - selling quickly and getting out or squeezing every last dollar out of some theoretical "my house is worth this".

Easily selling quickly. Not even close. If we can get 15% below market, I'd take it.

The market is what it will sell for.

Well, yeah.

I just talked to my realtor. He said nothing in our complex is a realistic comp. Not only that, we listed at the low range of per sq. ft. prices here.

The only one he could find that was a close comp was 300 sq. ft. smaller for the same price (on the other side of the peninsula). Plus, nothing has our view.

We got a cash offer for our condo. They offered list price if we included the boat lift. It was someone that already owns a unit here so they know everything about the complex. No inspection or anything. We'll close on the same day we close on the house. Huge load off.

We will close on both properties the same day, which will be really helpful.

Closing isn't until aug 29 - almost 2 months. Lol, my wife is already packing.

Most of that stuff can probably be donated, then.

Everyone should move (or at least go through their stuff) once in a while to declutter.

Yeah, no kidding. She's barely scratched the surface and we already took two large crates to goodwill.

Book 1 is now available on amazon in paperback and hardcover! Woot!

On to book 2.

I've been working on the websites and have all 3 looking OK. Still need a little work but they are up and running.

The squatters upstairs decided to haul in their extended family complete with noisy kids. The agreement from the owners was no children. I alerted the owners and she said she would contact them. Only 40something days to go. Actually less as far as that is concerned since they are scheduled to be out at the end of the month.

On that note, I really wish we could speed this up but the people we are buying the house from seem set on the end of August.

My wife has been busy packing. She wanted me to take the guest room beds apart so she could make more room for boxes but I drew the line. We have more than a month and half to do this.

I cannot wait to leave this place. There are people coming and going upstairs constantly. I've contacted the owners several times. I don't even think they know what is going on.

In the mean time.... I own a parking space for a boat trailer. We are unsure how to get this transferred to a new owner. I went to the homeowner's association and they said I needed to do this through the dock association. So, I contacted the dock association and they told me I needed to do this through the homeowner's association.
