I’m talking with a group about an opportunity for me to be staked by a UK based entity. The respective roles and responsibilities are defined in a very detailed written contract. The contract also requires me (US citizen) to complete a W9. Is providing a W9 relatively common as part of detailed agreements? BTW, I have an EIN I’d use on the W9 to protect my social security number. Thanks.
Sounds pretty standard. When I as a marketplace investor have a big cash from a horse, horses routinely ask me to fill out the W-9. See if the entity that is staking you is reputable and if yes, you should have no problem providing the W-9 information. And if they are not, why are you aligning yourself with them in the first place?
