Hi,

I'm a NL 200 player and coach and I'm looking for 1 micro-stakes players to mentor to NL 200 and beyond.
The profile of players I'm looking for are players with the capacity to put in atleast moderate volume (+40k hands/month), willing to learn and to work on their game.

I have all the material my students will need to climb stakes, I just need their hardwork.
The players would be playing on their money, paying me 50% of their monthly profits.

The deal would be made by x number of hands.

PM for more information.

I think the business model you are proposing is known as Coaching For Profit (CFP). Is that right, or do I misunderstand CFP? I have a friend who thinks he's going to set up something similar but I'm having difficulty understanding the CFP model. It raises the following questions for me:

1) Presumably, the proposal is not attractive to a winning player who would be unlikely to volunteer to share his profits in exchange for coaching. Every player can improve but a winning player is already getting something right and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Also, there are alternative coaching resources available at a better price. On this basis, isn't the CFP proposal only attractive to a break even or losing player?

2) Many losing players will never have the aptitude to win. Their real problem is in their personality, not their technical knowledge. Is it delusional to think you can coach losers to be winners?

3) If you did succeed in transforming a losing player into a winner, wouldn't that player then question why he needs to share his profits?
