Wait for the turn or raise flop with top set Wait for the turn or raise flop with top set

Villian is 25/20/14. Still not sure when to delay till the turn or fast play when people donk lead into my preflop raises and in this case cap. I usually like waiting for the turn when they were the one showing the most strength preflop since I need to protect my weaker range, but here I capped and he led into me. Another better way to play this may be to raise flop, call a 3 bet, and raise turn.

In this spot, I'd raise flop immediately. If you're lucky, he'll have AA or TT and put lots of money in almost totally screwed. Yes raising gives him a chance to get away from QQ/JJ, but that's offset by the action AA/AK/TT will give.

No one should get away from JJ/QQ.
Do not plan how to play a hand based off of such a narrow subset of possible villain hands.

I often call or fold the flop in position as a standard, but this guy donking into your cap on this board just makes him look spewy or at least a little wild, and against these guys I think it's better to give them the chance to pump lots of money in.
