Thin peel or spew??? Thin peel or spew???

01-09-2008 , 06:50 PM
Sorry, no converter, cannot seem to be accessible anymore at 2s-cracked?

Can I peel this or is it too thin? What's the plan next on turn and river, am I spewing here? Comments on all streets welcome.

Villain is SB. No stats on him (played from work ) but he seemed just decent, only a bit aggro preflop.

Any change to your answer if villain is a "normal" TAG (easy fold?) or a LAGTAG (easy peel?).

Getting 5:1 the turn looks like a close peel. The gutshot outs are pretty clean and you have the best hand quite often when you catch the king or a ten on river. Villain will 2 barrel his whole range most of the time.

as played river is a call obv

gotta make it 3 preflop here. given preflop i would play postflop the same. he is barreling air on the turn too much to fold and on the river you have a pretty good hand.

edit: read below....

Flop: Getting 11:1 and with position there is no way you can fold. I would peel JJ8 flop.

EDIT: Yes that will be 8:1 for those with a brain. Still calling. But its a lot closer

Turn: Same story. EDIT: Well given its 5.5:1 I think peeling is close. If villain has a fairly tight range and/or is giving up on a lot of turns I would fold. If villain is aggro LAG or LAGTAG that 2nd barrels a lot I like peeling. In the real world I never fold. I just pretend when posting

River: I call with the info provided in OP. In order to fold I need a good read that villain is bad at valuebetting. Provided such a read I can muck it rather easy.

With a SD bound image you cant ever fold since people will vb any pair and sometimes AK/AQ

Miles, just to make it clear, I raised UTG (5handed) and got 3bet by SB

RESULTS

I called river in a heartbeat but the turn really was a tough decision.

Guess I was result-oriented reviewing this hand : villain showed AA and I felt like a spewtard

obviously, fold the turn then

seriously though, flop is an easy peel.

turn is an easy fold, he 3bet from the BB, I'm willing to give him credit for a better hand that KTs, and I don't think we have the odds to call here.

Any reads/stats on villain? His 3-betting range and ability to double-barrel would obv be nice to have some idea of. W/o info, I fold turn. As played, gettin almost 8:1 is too good to fold when you made a pair. I think most players will show up with AK/AQ/pp often enough.
