it was a new table, so no idea how any of them play i'm afraid

Full Tilt Poker $1/$2 Limit Hold'em - 6 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Pre Flop: Hero is CO with Q J
2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls

Flop: (6 SB) Q 8 5 (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB raises, Hero calls, SB calls

Turn: (6 BB) 2 (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB 3-bets, Hero calls

River: (12 BB) Q (2 players)
BB bets, Hero?

when i played the hand, i decided to just call the flop and raise the turn, but i didn't really have a solid reason for it. i think 3betting the flop is probably the better way to go w/ the sb still in the hand. thoughts on this?

after villain's turn 3b my plan was to cryin call down, but then i rivered trips... readless, i wasn't sure wat his actions up to this point really meant. was it Th9h, 7h6h, a hand like 85, or was it Q8/Q5/88/55?

is the river still a raise vs an unknown? in fact, i'd be interested to know how you treat unknowns in general? do u assume they're fish, assume they play str8forwardly or assume they're half decent?

Just call. Raising for value would be hoping for Qhxh... some of which beat you anyway, vs. 12 combos of Q8/Q5/55/88.

I think the river is a definite call. The villain showed tremendous strength c/r the field on the flop and then b/3betting the turn. You don't want 3 bets going in, and if he was on a random crazy bluff you're not likely going to get more action from him (unless he's really going nuts, but these moments and villains are so very very rare).

flop/turn plan is fine since you have position. after he 3-bets, you have a crying-calldown and the river does not change much at all.

I dont like making "slowplays" whit only TPNK whitout any reads.

I prefer a 3rdbet on the flop for sure. Cuz when we get 3rdbet on the turn your pair isnt good and we are paying all the way. So you pay more for our mistakes and have less outs to improve.

Just raise on the flop. Not 3rdbeting on the flop is a big mistake IMO.

I would just call on the river and make notes about vilains.

That river changes nothing so if you wouldn't cap that turn you shouldn't raise this river.

is there a clearly superior flop line? wat influences the flop decision? wat would be the default, ie vs an unknown? like i said in my op, i think i prefer 3b cos i want to trap sb in the middle, forcing him to drop out or pay big to continue, is this correct? wat are u guys considerin when choosin ur play on the flop? thanks for the input!

oh and btw, i did just call on the river.
