I always claimed parttime playing was the best way, but after these last months i am not so sure. It is really surprising to me how motivation to play seem to get lower every month still. I sometimes felt like this when i pushed the hours to the max for several months in a row, but now in oct i played 4k hands and for about half of it i pushed myself to play for promotion reasons.

I suspect it has something to do with how easy it is run in bizzare ways for several months in a row when u get less than 10k hands per month. Remember last time i played parttime i played lower and always had 4+ tables going so i cruised through the variance in a more tolerable way.

Another factor is how ridiculously clinical and sterile the games are now at 20/40+. There is just nothing more to it than 5 pros taking small chunks off a -15BB/100whale. Noone really acts on human emotion anymore. Its just quick in for the jesus sit, 1 second+ delay for every decision to balance your tough decisions and then quick retreat when fish bust for max EV/hr. So very very efficient, and yet so boring.

Seems like I write this same post over and over but hey. Ever consider something beside ****ing LHE. NL, PLO, mixed games more fun and profitable. Studying more fun. Hell boc can win at it. And stop being so results oriented.

NL - We have known we would be better playing off NL for 10 years now. We chose LHE because NL sucks.

PLO - We have known we would be better off playing PLO for 5 years now. We chose LHE because PLO turns us into raging, roll spewing, tilt monkeys.

Mixed games - We have known we would be better off playing mixed games for 3 years now. We chose LHE because stud variants suck and 2-7/badugi/badeucey/etc. are fake games that nobody actually knows how to play.

Studying - Studying sucks. Why would I want to study poker when it sucks?

I'm old - I don't give half the **** about competing at card games that I did 5 years ago.

LHE - Still the only form of poker I have really loved at first. I have always hated NL. O8 has some potential, but don't really see why I should bother. LHE used to be lots of fun though. I still find it more tolerable than other forms of poker.

Dumb post - Networth made his first really dumb post in a long time.

Thanks Pope. Just saw that review. Looks like a pretty fair assessment to me. I haven't been 100% happy with anything I've put out thus far, but looking back at it doesn't embarrass me (except for the fact that I allowed my editor to include three forwards in my first book, plus a self-aggrandizing About the Author and Introduction).

At least Google thinks googling is a word, which is better than facebook, whose spell check thinks facebook should be capitalized, even though they never do it.

So, Limit Holdem. Is it still a thing?
