Pretty sick thing that's going on right now on Stars. This superduperfish will sit at a 100/200 or 200/400 6max table, play 5-10 hands, and leave, usually randomly after a hand, not waiting for his BB. Then, 10 seconds later, he appears at another table where a reg is sitting, game insta fills, he plays 5-10 hands and leaves, game insta breaks again.

We've been doing at at least FIFTEEN tables. The average lifespan of a table is about 3 minutes.

Yeah, it's just that the brutal thing is even if you have to pay an extra blind it's still significantly +ev to sit, so ...

Yf plans on leaving on 16th dec. But he's probably coming back after the holidays cause he's in lurv imo.

I'll make a trip to Laos on the 23rd cause my Visa expires. I should be able to get a double entry 60+30 day visa so that means I'll be able to stay 'till summer, when I plan to go back to Iceland cause that's pretty much the only time of the year I like on that little rock.

That blog is a load of BS presented by nice well written words.

The stuff about US vs Euro poker is just dumb and it seems he is trying to pick a fight which just isnt there. So PA, DB, Larzluzak, that crazy finish dude and Gus Hansen er all americans? There is a bunch of european players in the nosebleeds at ftp/stars and there is a bunch of scandinavian players who would have been there had it not been for silly tax rules.

LOL I have it worse, as a Massachusetts resident I pay 6% of my GROSS winnings, in addition to ~33% of my NET winnings to the US (it's actually worse due to phaseout of certain benefits to increase in AGI)

2k net winnings on 12k winning sessions and 10k losing sessions =

2k * .33 = 666 federal tax
12k * .06 = 720 MA tax

1486 total taxes = 70% rate.

Boni and rakeback make it a little better, but as of now I'm close to breakeven for the year in poker, boni and RB will just about cover the taxes.

Correct, unless filing as a professional it would be difficult to make any money as a massachusetts resident. I play for the challenge, 100kish hands a year of mostly 2-4 really wouldn't have a material impact on my life if I pay 0% or 100% taxes (hence the reason I don't cheat and not pay the taxes, fines and/or prison for tax fraud WOULD have a material impact on my life).
