Rarely is there a time where I go see a movie and don't enjoy it. I mean, movies in general entertain you, but most of the time they're not that great.
Sad but true, imo. Most of my favorite movies are from the 90s: LA Confidential, Usual Suspects, Get Shorty - high quality productions of well performed, intelligently written screenplays. Just about the only action movies these days that fall into the "great" category for me are the Bourne films. I kind of have a thing for Assassin's Remorse, though.

No, I've fallen tragically behind. But I have a plan that may change that: GiantBuddha's Grab-Bag Giveaway Grindathon

I have seen many ptr pages of players I respect or have a modicum of respect for, whose Full Tilt 5/10 results are breakeven or worse over many tens of thousands of hands. This is pure speculation, but I contend that although the 5/10 games on Full Tilt should be more profitable than Stars, they are in fact not so, for each action of a villain on Tilt comprises a much wider range than on Stars. So it is my speculation that a merely 'good' player will have a harder time taking correct lines against what is oft-times very erratic play on Tilt. That and increased variance(my std dev. is higher on Tilt) makes for much irritation, but again this is just a guess.

My PS winrate is about double my FT winrate at $5/10. $10/20 is the opposite. Your theory seems reasonable, but I don't know if the data is conclusive. It is true that the less accurate your assumptions are, the less accurately you can play.

Lets say someone offers me 7-1 on rolling a 6 on a 6-sided die. My WR here is .167 bet/roll. What's my standard deviation? How many bets would i need to play this game profesionally?

I think the effect is heightened in a high rake environment, that is incorrect lines are punished more severely, and as such although Tilt's 5/10 players are trying harder to give their money away, only an expert can take full advantage. And I'm presently convinced that experts are very few and far between in LHE(Boc is spot on, I used to think it was ego that made him state that 'everyone sucks' at LHE, as my study/play has progressed I agree wholeheartedly with his brash assertion).

SD per roll won't let you do BR estimations because the distribution isn't close to normal. However, you can use binomial distribution to estimate SD over a large group of rolls (lets say 100) which will approach normal due to CLM. This is also why it's useful to measure earn as bb/100 instead of bb/hand.
