about 15 minutes I think

in other news: yesterday's lhe stox vid features skillgambler in one of the reviewed hands, he calls with AK from BB, and Travis (the coach) says to his student:
"and he just calls with AK, I don't like that. So don't be that guy!"

lesson learned - it's not good to be skillgambler!

FFFFUUUU school. I just want to play poker instead of doing probability, number theory and physics.

So I decided to Donk it up in an Omaha Hi/Lo tourney, now all I know are the basic rules. Or.. at least I thought?

I thought having an Ace Lo is better than any non-ace low?

I can't find a converter that will convert Omaha tourney hands so..

Board [3s 2c 9d Js 6d]

Chmuly777 showed [Kh 5c 5d 4c]
Jack_Sarang (big blind) mucked [8s Ad 2d 6h]

A2368 < 23456 for a Lo?

So 8's don't qualify for a Lo in Hi/lo?
03-04-2010 , 09:58 AM
Sure they do, maybe I didn't phrase my response right.

Like, the Stud Hi/Lo is called Stud 8 or better (I think). Maybe I'm completely wrong here.

It's not evil at all. I am doing my work, not playing poker. Poker is secondary to my education.

Naa, probability maybe, we're doing the odds of getting a Full House, Trips, etc.

But I don't think Euler's Totient Function is going to help me out much with poker.

A2368 < 23456 for a Lo?
I am hoping I say this correctly (its been a while since I have played) but it’s whoever has the lowest unshared high card. Your 6 and 2 get counterfeited by the board so you get stuck using your 8 as your 5th low card. His 4 and 5 are still good so therefore you both share the 6,2 and 3 on the board but his highest low card is now 5 where you have to use your 8. Replace his two 5’s with 8x, then you would win as A2368 > 23468. In most cases both players are sharing the same 3 board cards and it boils down to the lowest high card in each players hand. That’s why everyone plays A2.

Hope I said that right and it makes sense.

You're right.

And you guys call yourself poker players and you can't figure out the rules to Omaha 8/b...wow
