***Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for December*** ***Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for December***

Idk I spent a few years on a spearfishing forum with a super friendly athmosphere, there was still a ton of ballbusting/teasing kind of manly humor between the members but always in good spirit, free of ill spirited trolling, and I really really enjoyed that forum. When I came to 2p2 a few years later, it seemed extremely hostile to me. I hated it but I needed the info from better players so I sticked around. By now I've just blended in, sadly. Challenging each other's views does not have to include hostility, trolling, angry sarcasm, clashing egos etc, it could be done in a friendly manner, but that hardly happens around here, and since I got used to it, I'm as guilty of it as everyone else, and I'm not proud of it tbh.

I don't really find this thread hostile at all. UG's rant are mostly tongue in cheek. Elo's are for our entertainment. The witless trolling is at a minimum I think. But I've certainly been called a troll angrily before, so maybe I'm just insensitive.

whats a LCNC thread without some rants and random hostility? Would be pretty boring imo.

At least i have never taken stuff too personal on here, and i tend to assume that people who post here want honest opinions and discussions rather than the sugar coated stuff you mostly get IRL.

i think that was pope, he was permabanned

Look on the bright side! At least people are posting less strategy so thousands of players can't freeride into becoming better.

Notice that Pill4Big hasn't been back on since I ethered him. I think he knows that if he's gonna hit me back he had best come correct.

Played an oh so typical 2/5NL hand last night. $10 straddle. UTG with $500 calls with QT. I make it $50 with 600 behind with AK. 1 fold. But calls with $600 with KQ. SB calls with $80 with A8s. BB calls with $150 with JT. Straddle calls with $500 with 33. UTG calls.

Flop KJ8 Sb $30 AI. BB calls. Straddle folds. UTG calls. I make it 300. But folds. BB calls. UTG goes AI. I call.

Turn/river Q 3. But starts bitchin about folding KQ. straddle starts bitchin anbout folding 33. UTG starts bitchin about never hitting a draw. SB, BB and UTG rebuy for $100. How can you guys not love live poker?
12-19-2012 , 02:56 PM
heh, nice hand sir

I don't like playing fullring live NL with a bunch of fish, unless they are tricky lagfish. I LOVE playing shorthanded deep live NL with good players, that's a lot of fun.

I'm thinking it's time to ditch my cell phone. It already annoys me that people have access to me 24/7. I got the thing for my own damn convenience. And now, my suspicions about gov't tracking seem to be confirmed. Although maybe it's already too late to worry about it, as surely they can find a way to track you regardless. F tilt.

I wouldn't worry about it, the gov't is only tracking you to make the U.S. a safer place

Along those lines, I recently deleted my FB account and signed up for Diaspora*. Pretty sick of their ****ing disregard for user privacy. You seem like the type that might enjoy reading EFF, or maybe the type whose latent paranoid schizophrenia would be triggered by reading it (I know mine is).

August 22, 2012 — Brandon J. Raub, a 26-year-old pro-liberty activist, former U.S. Marine, and Virginia resident, was arrested after authorities deemed his Facebook posts threatening. Citing an obscure statute allowing the involuntary detainment of a citizen for psychiatric evaluation, the FBI, Secret Service, and local authorities swarmed Raub’s property to question and then seize him.

Srsly, I can't understand how a person with reasonable intelligence can vote for these lunatics. It's like... we watch the news over here, and we're like... who the fk is dictating this **** to you guys (the republicans)... emperor palpatine???

I mean, dems essentially as bad, just packaged with a little less crazy on the surface.

any group that bares any responsibility for global mass murder and implementing a police state are beyond redemption in my book.

but no moar politarding from me
12-21-2012 , 09:08 PM
you might as well say that all govmnt is bad then.

Saying that the dems are bad is fine. Saying that the dems public agenda is as bad as the Reps public agenda is ludicrous.

Dems: we're gonna raise ur taxes and pretend we're the good peaceful guys while killing thousands of innocent middle eastern citizens.

Reps: we're bat **** crazy, if you smoke drugs we'll kill you, if ur a woman we'll dominate your body and free will, if you are a pacifist we'll condem you, if you're a foreigner we'll hate you, if ur poor we'll take all your benefits, if you are the 1% we'll make sure you'll become the 0.1%, if you don't believe in god we'll force you to do so.

Oh, and we kill thousands of innocents too.
12-21-2012 , 09:29 PM
heh. some of that is slightly hyperbolic. the 'hate the poor, love the rich' stuff is way overblown. The dem approach to economics is a fantasy, and the Reps have the same approach but pretend theirs is different. all the rabble about taxes and spending is a sideshow where the 2 sides argue of fractions of a percent while they generally do the same thing. The entitlement programs are essentially ponzi schemes, but anyone who comes out against them is demonized. But I don't imagine you and I would agree on taxes and economic policies anyway.

The religious stuff I'm with you on. It's batsht crazy. Abortion rights are a trickier philisophical issue (I'm w you there too), but it's also a sideshow because nothing major is going to change about it, it's just there to polarize people based on where they fall on the issue (and people are generally very firmly on one side or the other, making it an effective tool to keep people occupied while brushing over things the gov't doens't want people talking about.)

For all the spectacle, there is a deep collusion between the parties where it counts imo.
