Nut flush on turn, best line to make the most money Nut flush on turn, best line to make the most money

Haven't played limit in a while, so the more criticism the better. Play at the table was quite loose. Was playing at a friends house so no numbers on the other players, but the game was playing loose and fast.
My thoughts were that on the flop I wanted to try to get in a check raise to build up the pot. With the check raise on the flop, I wanted it to look like I was scared of the flush on the turn. I was planning on check raising the turn if bet to. The river was the best possible card for me.

Don't worry about deception or trying to "look scared of a flush" at small stakes. No one is trying to read your hand, they're only worried about their own hand.

And at higher stakes, your turn c/r will obviously be a flush.

Basically, in limit, checking and calling are not good ways to generate action. Betting and raising is how you do it.

Your flop play was really good though.

Since you were the biggest aggressor on the flop, everyone is expecting you to bet and if you don't they become afraid to bet because you might checkraise, or they might fear someone else has the flush.

Often if you don't bet, noone will.

And if a kill card came on the river like a fourth spade, you might not make another dime.

It happened to work out for you because the river made two straights and you were playing against two typical donktards who don't know how to lay down a loser. Note even J9 would have pwned those guys and would have been consistant with the way you played your hand....oesd on flop, afraid of flush on turn, made the nut straight on the river.

I just bet the flop, but since you checked, that's fine too.

The turn, come on, wtf. Just bet/3bet

I think the flop play is hot OOP to 4 people on that board. As far as the turn play: I'm gonna have to steal Victor's line and say turn play is a third trimester abortion.

I just lead the flop, hoping to 3-bet.

As played, I definitely bet the turn.

Here's a little advice from an oldtimer: Never go for a CR with a hand that is strong enough to bet/3-bet.

This applies to just about any situation in limit poker.

This is good advice.

But, there are situations that i get so pissed off when i check to my oponent and he allways bets on me that i´m ballancing whit this times that i check whit the intention of raise whit the good hands. This often apears when i get involved whit in alot of hands vs one single oponent and i have to balance things.

But i think that whit the experienc you will find those spots, and when the times arrive you dont need any advice cuz the move will just ring a bell, and you will do it.

So until you get that experience, just go straightfoward.

*grunch*

Bet the turn imo.
Also, betting the flop is a viable alternative your C/R.

What's wrong with the river play?

I think checking the flop is a mistake.

Although you still got two customers to come along here, you're most likely going to get folds with your flop c/r.

I would have bet out, hoped for a bunch of calls, and then prayed for a raise so I could promptly 3bet.

As played, I would have bet the turn.
