6 max 0.25/0.50

no HUD cuz i play by real time reads

a pretty LAGGY guy who plays probably 40/30ish opens UTG. CO loose passive calls, I three bet KK in SB. very loose passive player calls in BB, UTG caps all call

flop 432 rainbow. i bet (this is a pretty dumb mistake on my part, i should have CR'd), BB raises, UTG calls, CO folds, I 3 bet, loose passive BB caps!, UTG calls

turn 3. i check, BB bets and now UTG raises??

3 bet? call? fold? can see arguments for any and all options

Just don't fold at this stake. BTW just don't play at this stake.

expound on this please?

im on a mission to build a $10K roll from $10 so i had to start even lower (0.02/0.04) and so far have progressed to this level, and am about 50 BB away from 0.50/1

it's just opportunity cost and the fact that you're gonna have to get through a bunch of high rake stakes to get to a meaningful limit.

HOWEVER, if it's just a personal goal thing or a necessity based on lack of $$$, then by all means, do it.

If all you're rolled for is quarter stakes, then stick with it until you win enough to move up. Don't let all the $50/100 players here tell you otherwise.

It's kind of a stupid mission if it doesn't include a bet where you win a lot if you succeed. Why not start you mission at 2/4 with $2K and build as large bankroll as you can?

If your economy only can take a $10 loss I feel sorry for you and promise to stake you with another $10 if you go broke.

What stakes do you consider to be high rake? The only reason I am interested is because I am kind of doing the same thing that OP is. I'm starting at .50/1.00 and know that I am a winning player at this limit but I just want to prove to myself that I can correctly build a roll before moving up limits. Maybe I should just jump into 1/2.

kit, get staked, and play 3-6 at least

You have UTG beat here pretty much always, and have 4 outs vs. the BB if he has a straight. I'm at least calling here.

you should be able to figure out how much rake you're paying at certain limits on certain sites. in general the change in rake between 1/2 and 10/20 is pretty massive.

3 bet all day imo. you can't fold, may as well 3bet for value

since you guys are talking about rake... i'm curious, at what stakes is rake the worst? is it really bad at .25/.50? is it worse at .5/1 or 1/2? if drop doesn't start until $1 at $20, 2/4 must have a pretty decent rake structure, is that true?

dunno why i care, guess i'm just interested to know whether it's still possible to start at babystakes and move up through the limits; or if rake/game quality has made it extremely tough to beat the micros

Did you all miss my rake comparison thread not so long ago?

It seems that UTG was either slowplaying the flop for some reason or is trying to rep a slowplay or a 3. As another possibility, maybe he's just a spaz.

BB, however, seems like a real worry, and at this point I'm thinking flopped straight or house, and I'm hoping I'm wrong. (I mean, I guess it could just be A2 or 55 or even some drawless overpair, but it's hard to know how bad players are going to evaluate the strength of their hand on a board like this one.)

I would cold-call, but I'm not happy since I'm worried it's going to come back two more to me.

Kid

Plz explain this project. Is there a blog or something where you can follow it? Does it entail juicy propbets?

In any case good luck.
