Villain seems to be pretty aggressive. Would a A6 be totally of out the question (on the flop)?

Isn't a b/f on the river better? As played I think I would've folded here, but then again, my WTSD is a bit low

First, that range is too narrow. This is a co steal vs. Laggish btn resteal. Second, c/r the flop and go from there .

Since I was placing him on a much stronger starting hand than what hit the flop I felt like I did not want him to see a free card by him checking behind me.

Would it be better to check the flop and have him check behind and then bet the turn?

He capped pf, he will not check behind. Seriously, you should read the sticky before posting more.

On the river, I suppose AcJc is one unfortunate candidate hand, but I wouldn't trust Villain either.

Once Villain caps the flop but then checks back the turn, the flop cap is starting to look like a "free card" play, making overs + a club draw a likely hand for Villain. However, some players simply insist on taking control of the hand on the flop when in position and will take this line instead with a marginal made hand or otherwise drawless overcards. Sometimes the intent is a "cheap showdown," but sometimes the player really will be free-carding and will fold to a river bet unimproved.

I'm torn on the river. I kind of want to bet (to get paid by AK/AQ), but I don't want to call a raise, and I do want to see his hand. Anyway, sometimes I check-call in this spot too -- particularly on a card (such as the J) that might have hit Villain or one that he might try to represent.

Edit: On the flop I would checkraise and go from there. If for some reason I led instead, I would just call the raise unless I had a read that Villain was the auto-raising type.
