villain very laggy, can get overaggro postflop, I've seen him raise any pair on flop previously. At this stage I cannot remember seeing him semi-bluff.

I check

Peel friendly flop

he is now gonna fold a large part of that range

If you check he can bluff those hands that fold now on the river

Its not a big problem to hand out free cards as he will often have just 4 to 7 outs

Make my hand JT with a heart and I bet

if you are confident in your read that villain never has a pair or flush here the best play would be to b/3b for value

oink makes a good point about inducing bluffs by checking behind, and I think that would be a fine play if the turn didn't bring the 3rd heart. however with the 3rd heart villain will continue with many more hands, and also might decide to semibluff with a turned flush draw which we can punish with a 3bet.

it is mostly for the second reason that we should bet

disclaimer: you'd better be damn confident to 3bet the turn here. unless you have a very strong read just bet and call down a raise. I was just trying to make a point
