TAG BTN opens, Bad LAG sb 3 bets, you have A8s in the BB and? Also, whats the worst that you cap here.

Capping or calling are both fine. If he's really bad, we're probably going to want to play a lot hands in this spot and calling with a hand strong enough to cap like A8s will give those hands some protection. Obviously, one hand in a vacuum, capping is best.

just dont fold

I think getting the tag to fold J9 or K7 kind of hands makes it worth capping.

Dont fold and try to balance your **** here. I mean if you call you cant just call medium to good holdings.

I cap btw

I've always had a really hard time trying to balance this spot, so I just cap everything I'm willing to play

I really don't like cold-calling two raises. If I feel a hand is playable from that position in that situation, I'm capping it.

Never calling 2 bets in the BB is def a leak. WR wise its not a big leak but conceptually its a huge one. You will be faced with good odds to call 2 bets soooo often

Edit: "Soooo often" as in when it is raised and 3-bet whenever there is a limper or a coldcaller somewhere in the mix you will have a +Ev call with quite a few hands

Fold. Way weak. I go with the nitty Stox guidelines. Vs a steal and 3 bet by the sb, you need AQ, AJs, KQs, 66. This is a dominated hand. At least one of your opponents probably has a bigger ace. I can see lowering the requirement by a notch or two based on the bad lag opponent. But going from AJs down to A8s is a big jump.

Doesn't flat calling the 3bet give the Tag button a chance to define? He'll usually cap a monster and play predictable poker because it's now 3way. I prefer the flat call me thinks.

Key for me are reads and stats on just how loose and aggressive this small blind is. "Bad Lag" is a generalization. How bad can a bad lag be if a lag plays bad between tags?

I'd prefer capping as a default here, for seizing the initiative in this way increases the chances that the button will not realize his full equity(likewise the small blind). The button's and small blind's hands will be defined soon enough.

Hmmm I think the question is do you want to be in the middle or not, it seems like it kind of sucks to be in the middle on the flop here so I cap.
