BB hand. BB hand.

Stars 2/4 6 handed.

Very loose and bad players limps in cutoff, SB raises-no read. I just call in BB with 55. The cutoff would have called a three bet here for sure. cutoff calls.

The flop: Ad4sAc

SB bets, I raise, cutoff folds, SB calls.

The turn: Ad4sAc3h

We both check

The river: Ad4sAc3hQh

SB bets, I fold.

Bet/fold the turn. As played I think a fold is good.

Id bet/fold the turn. If hs good enough to c/r you off a pair with K high on the turn then good luck to him.

Id only check this turn with the intention of calling a non K,Q river bet.

I dont understand your raise on the flop, if he has nothing he will stop bluffing that way and he now can get value if he does have a Ace, I would have just called down

Not sure of your average 2/4 PF raise, but assuming it isn't very wide we're in pretty bad shape on the flop. I guess I would call the flop and fold if he bets the turn 3 way. As played it is more complicated since we picked up 4 outs. I probably would've bet but I imagine we're getting check/raised here a decent amount.

Since so many turns will give Kx 9 outs it actually has a lot of value to get SB to fold say KQs

OP

I play it the same but I think an argument can be made for b/f'ing the turn as I do believe he peels flop with Kx hands with some probability

I play it the same. I don't like b/f on the turn since we picked up a gutshot.

I missed the gut shot

This makes checking so much better than b/f. It also makes b/c > b/f

Yeah I missed gs also.

i don't think sb is putting you on an ace when you raise the flop. the raise looks more like an attempt to overrepresent your hand than an actual ace. i think a typical player will peel with most of his Kx hands.

the fact that he didn't reraise or donk the turn decreases the probability that he has an ace even more.

the Q is a crappy card of course since KQ now caught up. but i think since you checked the turn he might be betting his whole range on the river. i guess the fold is still fine, but do you guys fold if the river is a blank?

No, I just think that besides the K the Q is the worst card in the deck for us. It would be nice to have a read on sb, but my guess is that KQ is the bottom end of his range for 2/4. Though it is certainly possible that he has KJ I dont think he has it enough to profitably call here.
