SB is 28/21/2.3

Full Tilt Poker $1/$2 Limit Hold'em - 5 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Pre Flop: Hero is BB with Q A
3 folds, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls

Flop: (6 SB) Q 8 A (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls

Turn: (4 BB) T (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls

River: (6 BB) 5 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises

Thoughts on the whole hand and do you like the river raise? His donk threw me off and I figured he would c/r the flop with a FD.

I'd raise the flop.

I just call the river. His play is pretty consistent with a FD and I dont feel like I can fold if he 3 bets.

Yah plus it seems pretty dumb for him to bet/call anything.

Raise flop since thats where you are most likely to get value. He wont bet/call turn enough to wait IMO. Raising river is bad. He plays like a flush and either has it or is bluffing.

If he knows how to fold the worst hand or if you don't know how to fold the worst hand or if he is capable of a River Bet/3 Bet Bluff (which is pretty uncommon), don't raise the river as he's unlikely to call with a worse hand and will punish you with a better one.

If he will call light or call with any ace (and many Tags will,) and you can fold to a three bet, I don't mind a raise there. You might make an extra BB and the most you lose is an extra BB. If you lose 3 BBs on the river, you almost surely got pwnd.

The only exception is would be against an aggressive donkey who overvalues his hand versus the action and board. Someone like that might think a hand worse than yours is good and B/3B the river. Raising against someone like that could be dangerous because then you put yourself into a situation where you don't know whether to call or fold, and your bound to make mistakes whichever you chose. If your not sure, just call the river and avoid the problem.

And there are a lot of players that don't C/R the flop with a flush draw, or some that don't do it all the time. This flop has an Ace and Queen and you 3Bet preflop and the SB probably wouldn't expect to have much fold equity with a C/R, Bet Turn line.

If he's solid as you say, he's probably not one of those donkeys who seem to think they are getting pure value or can get an Ace to fold by jamming HU with a flush draw.

FLOP: RAISE!!! you have a great hand right now but you don't want to see any , T, J, 9 -- thats 18 cards you don't want to see on the turn OR river. Make him pay to draw on you or even better make him pay with near dead hand. if any of these cards (especially the ) hit you should slow down.

TURN: assuming you raised the flop, this is probably the best of the cards you don't want to see, you should bet and hope to win it right there.

RIVER: as played the turn seems like a flush draw. Your great hand is now very weak and you should just call

If you raise the flop and he calls, you might miss out on the chance to raise the turn too.

If he bet the turn, I'd raise there. And if he bets the turn, he probably has a hand that will call you and call the river too, since it's SB v BB and you could be raising light.
