Re: President Trump

Sushy your team is guilty of multiple instances of political hate-based murders in the United States in the last two weeks, but me writing this post on the internet is just going to further entrench your certainty that you're on the right team, yeah?

Thinking that Mike Tyson supporting Donald Trump counterbalances those beliefs in any meaningful way is nonsensical.
Fine. But what about the accusations that he is an anti semite? Possibly almost as bad as Hitler. Being friendly to a few Jews doesn't disprove that either. But when a higher percentage of his inner circle is Jewish than I believe was the case for any other President, might it not be the time to back off from that particular accusation.?

It may be more of a function of the circle he mixes in than anything else.

Having a general racial/etc prejudice doesn't seem to be the same thing as a personal issue with individuals from that race/etc. The 'I don't mean you' attitude seems to be quite strong.

Re: President Trump

According to officials, Trump is likely to pull out of the Paris climate accord

I look forward to half the country explaining to their grandchildren decades from now that they willfully chose the planet their grandchildren are inheriting because they wanted a slightly higher standard of living for themselves, everyone else be damned. It's exactly the kind of logic you see in posts like this one.

Quote:
Advisers pressing him to remain in the accord could still make their case to the boss. In the past, such appeals have worked. In April, Mr. Trump was set to announce a withdrawal from the Nafta free trade agreement, but at the last minute changed his mind after intense discussions with advisers and calls from the leaders of Canada and Mexico.
Let us hope the fact that the president of the United States has the attention span of a 5 year old might save us!

I think you picked the wrong thread to post this in. You linked to the right one - "How Trump is better than Obama".

Re: President Trump

Clinton is on CNBC whining about why she thinks she didn't win. Something about misogyny. It is great. I highly recommend turning it on.

Re: President Trump

mickey, who has gotten mad at liberals in the past for posting things not having to do w/ Trump in this thread, is currently liveblogging a Hillary Clinton interview. Can't make this stuff up.

If I were a Trump supporter I guess I'd be also rushing to focus my attention on absolutely anything that doesn't have to do with Trump.

No.

This notorious individual, the genial, charismatic, anti-Semitic mayor of Vienna in the 1890s and 1900s, was the key influence on both Theodor Herzl and Adolf Hitler (in different ways, obviously). He had many Jewish friends and, whenever this was pointed out to him, he'd go, 'I decide who's a Jew.' Meaning his personal friends were OK, but as for the rest... And this is normal for anti-Semites. They always do that.

Maybe the fact you watch CNBC during the day is why your career is in the dumps. Just saying.

I don't recall ever getting made at anyone for being off topic. However, I used to get on bert for posting 5+ tweets or posts in a row w/o an explanation of why he posted it or his thoughts on it.

Well, I think I've cracked the 'covfefe' thing. He was trying to type 'coverage' (as in 'press coverage'), messed it up, fumbled his thumbs while trying to correct it and accidentally posted the unedited gibberish.

Fair enough. Except this is the president of the United States, Chrissakes.

Trump posts all this garbage from his mobile phone. President Obama never even carried a mobile phone, because the president is advised not to, for blindingly bloody obvious security reasons. But nobody can tell His Trumpness anything.

And now here you are rattling off post after post about some random Hillary interview on daytime TV. You've become that which you hated most, mickey.

Related: Trump has been telling world leaders to call him on his cell phone

Quote:
Even if Trump uses his government-issued cellphone, his calls are vulnerable to eavesdropping, particularly from foreign governments, national security experts say.

“If you are speaking on an open line, then it’s an open line, meaning those who have the ability to monitor those conversations are doing so,” said Derek Chollet, a former Pentagon adviser and National Security Council official now at the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

A president “doesn’t carry with him a secure phone,” Chollet said. “If someone is trying to spy on you, then everything you’re saying, you have to presume that others are listening to it.”
Tell us more, Sushy et al, about negligence and how important it is to keep information secure

Yes, if the call does not go through the secure White House line, then anybody in the world with the necessary capability (which is not that hard to acquire) can listen in. Yet Trump keeps handing out his unauthorised mobile phone number like a business card, in that inimitable 19th-hole way of his.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. My bad.

In fairness the post I said that about really had nothing to do with Trump. At least my post was related to Trump in that it was about the person who was closest to preventing America from becoming great again.
