It's pretty clear that I said the main reason we shouldn't judge RR in clinical terms is because we don't know too much about the relationship (Well, it's clear to people who aren't out to intentionally misrepresent what other people say- not you).
To the extent that he is judged via a minute long video clip, we should consider the victims reaction as a factor since she has a lot more information than we do and is the one who has suffered. We should also consider cultural aspects, such as the infliction of violence onto and into the African American culture and the effect of that on norms. And lastly we should ask ourselves why we are talking about RR so much. Are we looking at this objectively or are we viewing it through the perspectives of celebrity culture and racist high horsemanship?
