Could y'all please put all these crazy bitter petty little feuds aside for now while we talk some soccer? That's not too much to ask.
06-25-2014 , 02:14 AM
It really is tho.
06-25-2014 , 02:27 AM
Politurding up the soccer thread? Somebody HAD to do it. May as well just sit back and try to enjoy it.
06-25-2014 , 02:31 AM
I'm doing it in the SE soccer thread so may as well here too

I was hating Klinsmann before the WC started, but he might know what he's doing after all. Saw England's and Italy's coaches both quit today after ignominious exits.

Who's trying to convince him not to like it? He can like it all he wants. But the "you're dumb if you hate futbol" sentiment will be checked, no pun intended.

I guess it's different when you enter threads protesting the idea that Mexico's hard times have anything to do with their declining oil production. In any event, you do better focusing on the meat of the argument than you do guessing about people's personal motivations in a rather dickish way.

quarantined post to Jiggs
Spoiler:
if u watched the both US matches and weren't entertained then you found out the sport just isn't for you. nothing wrong with that. my point was not "ppl who dont love soccer r dumb", it was (and is) "ppl unfamiliar with the sport should give it a chance right now b/ the games have been great and hopefully are only getting better."

the last thing this thread needs is multi-quoted reply to your multi-quoted reply post. no, thats's not me admitting defeat. yes, if you try to do a victory lap i will go there. you don't like soccer, would it shock you the things you said about it were wrong?

for public consumption

2day, 12pm est, ESPN, Agrentina-Nigeria. Argentina has some of the best attackers in the world and hopefully they'll put on a show. DVR it then watch with an open mind.

Here's a another quarantined post for Jiggs
Spoiler:
LOL Jiggs, I'm not guessing. Your misery is on full display. Don't worry, I've learned my lesson about giving you the courtesy of taking you seriously.
I've never been much of a soccer fan, but I'm enjoying watching some of the games during this tourney. I'm somehow able to get past the "neo-nazi sentiment".

I dropped my cable, and the espn online coverage is glitchy and low-quality, so I've been watching games on Univision. I understand only about 2% of the commentary, but maybe it's better this way.

Jiggz's work ITT is going to make me reconsider peak oilz
06-25-2014 , 11:51 AM
Surely finding out that you're agreeing with jiggz should make you reevaluate your position on lolsoccer.

That Messi is something else. And so much more likable than Ronaldo.

Cool... then you can apply that spiteful logic to other things I hate, like racism, fascism, pollution and corruption and be a big fan of all four.

Ronaldo recently paid £50k for a child to undergo brain surgery. He's definitely one of the most likeable/charitable players off the pitch. Not celebrating when his teammates score while lapping it up when he scores himself annoys me though.

The US is about to get the Man Shaft. Going to be ugly, can't wait

Deutschland wird zerstort werden!!!!!!

this game is going to be a total snoozefest, an estimated 14 billion americans are going to skip out on work to watch it, it's going to end in a 0-0 tie with no serious action at all and that will be the end of soccer in the USA #1.

He really shouldn't be the coach of an American team. Acceptable professions for Germans in the US are:

1) engineer
2) die hard villain

That's basically it
