Donald Sterling UNCHAINED Donald Sterling UNCHAINED

04-29-2014 , 11:39 AM
I knew when I saw the thread title that Silverman who have to jump in and somehow, in some manner, be if not outright siding with the racists, then at the very least being against the people appalled by the racism.

I can't believe Silverman didn't appear until after 30 posts in. This thread was the equivalent of the Silverman Bat-signal. He's off his game.

Fined millions and a lifetime banhammer. BOOM
04-29-2014 , 02:40 PM
Why pay the fine? What are they gonna do, ban him for life TIMES TWO?

Just watched the press conference. Silver has a really good command of the situation, acted decisively, did a great job of handling some really bad questions and giving good responses to the good questions.

You are completely right.

Didn't know about the language on hurting the league.

He's going to get a ton of money if he decides to sell the team. Doubt he puts it all at risk to protect $2.5MM.

private entities following contractual law - - - NAZI GERMANYYYYYYY

Wow, that's some swift action!

Normally I would say the lifetime ban was kinda harsh. I like to give some room for people to reform. But the dude is 80 years old so wtf.

I just went to the Freeper site to read their comments. Its pretty funny to read the outrage by fringe right (though I'm not clear its not mainstream right these days)

Let's just say several people have agreed to now refer to the NBA as the "Negro Basketball Association" and, of course, are blaming this on Obama.

Dear everyone on the "it was a private conversation angle"

You are idiots. This guy isn't the one to go to bat for. He's been a racist ******* for decades. Really the only quesiton to be asking is why was the the last straw? Why wasn't he kicked out of the league 8 years ago?

The right isn't sticking up for this guy personally. It just the point that this was a private conversation. This NBA ban sets an Orweillan precedent for freedom of speech and invasion of privacy.

Oh, and #LOLNBACONSTITUTION

God you're dumb. Do you understand how private institutions differ from the government? Because you don't make it seem like you do.
04-30-2014 , 04:59 AM
Doesn't matter. He's being financially impacted amd punished for something he said. Individuals are not allowed to deprive you of your Constitutional rights any more than the government is. And what he said was in private and not illegal. He's probably got good grounds on which to sue the league. Hell, the ACLU might do it for him!

You didn't respond to the first part. Because it is true.

The person you were responding to didn't mention "the right", so there was no pointing addressing it

I would say you're dumber than silver_dunce, but that's pretty much impossible.

Do you even know what constitutional rights are? Or do you think it's just a meaningless phrase to scream when something you don't like happens?

I bet none of the current and former professional athletes tweetering how disgusted they were by Sterling's comments have EVER said ANYTHING reprehensible in private or in the locker room, right?

The only idiots are the people who care about this who aren't directly involved with this. I mean, did you guys set your alarm for 2 P.M. ET so you could go to the toob and froth at the mouth awaiting the punishment for a thought crime from this idiot? It's one person that none of you ever heard about before last week and it was a private conversation.

Also, what do you guys think of this? Not even 24 hours ago Shaq was calling Sterling's comments "repugnant."

And less than 24 hours later Shaq is nailed making fun of a poor physically challenged kid on Instagram, who LOOKS UP to Shaq

http://nypost.com/2014/04/28/shaq-un...d-fans-selfie/.

BAN SHAQ FROM SOCIAL MEDIA, RIGHT GUYS??!?!

You're not the only one who gets to change the topic whenever he wants to.

But your answer makes it pretty clear either way.

Gambool didn't answer the question and neither did you. Which means if $1,000,000 dollars was really on the line if you could guess whether he has said it multiple times throughout his life, then you would both guess that he has. And I guess I don't see the problem with not saying that you would guess that he has. I mean HE IS OLD AND WRINKLY AND WHITE.

Whatever I say in private or have in my thoughts is none of your concern. If you think I have said something like that before, well, I really don't care what you think. We have only just crossed the threshold of all this thought crime nonsense. So you'll probably have to wait another 100 years when someone comes out with Google Mind or Google Eavesdropper where you can read my thoughts or hear what I say from 1000 miles away, and by that time you'll probably be able to prosecute people for saying things like that privately, which you nut jobs would obviously love.

Because they didn't have the votes. It's easier to stir people to action when there is an recent and extremely public event.

Sterling is going to "fight," so I'm wondering if contraction is a possibility, and how much more does Sterling lose if contraction would happen.

Also, hats off to the commish, but this was a pretty easy decision wasn't it?

Racists got no place to hide but inside them little minds and black coal hearts of theirs. Even their special code has been cracked. hyuck hyuck
